Portage Hill Art Gallery
Discover a special treasure from our top quality art originals created by regionally and nationally known artists. Portage Hill Gallery was first opened in 1982 as a venue to showcase the artwork of Audrey Kay Dowling and many of the fine artists from the Chautauqua region. Since its humble beginnings in the parlor of her 1830s Greek Revival home, the gallery has grown to represent the regional and national work of over 100 artists in three rooms of the house, including a dedicated gallery space added in 1995. For 140 summers, people have come to Chautauqua’s 750-acre community to experience arts, education, concerts, lectures and lively discussions. The Chautauqua Institution gate pass, which is necessary for hotel guests, gives you access to most of the 35 other events that are offered each day. During the spring and fall months, the Athenaeum Hotel acts as a host to well-organized conferences, beautiful weddings, and special events. A Chautauqua Institution gate pass is not needed during these months.

Health and Medical Services at Chautauqua
The Allegany Health Network Clinic at Chautauqua is open 8 - 11:30 a.m. and 12:00 - 3:00 p.m. Monday - Friday during Chautauqua's summer assembly season. Walk in to make an appointment or call 716-357-3209. Location is 21 Roberts Avenue (near the Amphitheater on the street that runs behind the Brick Walk Cafe).
Brickwalk Cafe Grab-N-Go + Ice Cream
Salads, wraps, sandwiches, and snacks are available at the Brick Walk Cafe on Bestor Plaza daily for that quick bite to eat. Full menu also available for order daily. Check out the daily special on the chalkboard outside.
Food for Thought -- Fresh, Clean Food
Download full menu (see "file" below) of freshly prepared salads, sandwiches and dinners. Order dinners in advance for pick-up. Fresh baked breads and baked goods, Perry's Ice cream, gourmet coffee, smoothies, and a delightful assortment of hostess and home goods. Visit us on the ground level of the St. Elmo on Bestor Plaza. Ice Cream!!
Ice cream is available at three locations on Bestor Plaza: Brickwalk Cafe and Food for Thought (ground level, St. Elmo) offer hand-dipped Perry's Ice Cream and the Plaza Market in the Colonnade offers a variety of ice cream bars, pints and popsicles.
Bus and Tram Tracker
Find out where the free shuttles and trams are during their hours of operation (7:40 a.m. - 8:00 p.m. during the summer assembly season). https://busandtramtracker.chq.org/trams/ Bus and tram service is also available at the Amphitheater, Bratton Theater and Norton Hall following evening programs. Buses and trams cycle through their routes at approximately 25-minute intervals. They stop at all yellow benches and you can also flag one from your location anywhere on the routes.
Business Center
Located in the Robert R. Hesse Welcome and Business Center at the Main Gate, the Business Center desk is open daily. Features for 2019 include: A new Xerox Instant Print kiosk -- a self-serve solution that lets walk-up users secure print, copy and fax services. The USB thumb drive port provides for print-from and scan-to services. It also provides complete compatibility with common mobile printing applications, offering on-demand access to Dropbox, Google Drive, SharePoint, OneDrive and EFI PrintMe cloud locations. Payment is done at the kiosk through a credit card. The fee schedule is on the Business Center Reference Sheet (attached); in addition to the shared workspace, private office suites can be rented. Laptop rentals, while using either space, are available; Frank Finnerty will provide notary services at the Business Center Monday to Wednesdays from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Additional on-grounds options are available from staff, appointment appreciated. Smith Memorial Library
The Smith Memorial Library is part of the Chautauqua County Library system. The Cohen Recording Studio is located on the ground level. 9 Week Chautauqua Season Hours: Monday–Friday: 9 a.m.–5 p.m. Saturday: 9 a.m.–3 p.m. Sunday: 12 p.m.–3 p.m.
Everett Jewish Life Center

There are more events at the Everett Center than days in the summer season, and hundreds of Jews, non-Jews and Chautauquans benefit from this remarkable new home.

Nonperishable Food Drives
Dispose of nonperishable foods in the cartons inside the north entrance of the post office. Mayville Food Pantry makes the food available to needy families in Chautauqua Lake Central School District. Hurlbut Church is accepting nonperishable food items for the Asheville Food Pantry. Food donations may be dropped off at the Scott entrance of Hurlbut Church.

Afterwords Cafe
Located on Bestor Plaza, above the bookstore, we are open year-round for lunch and early dinner, 11:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m. (See the menu attached.) Summer Assembly Season Hours are Sunday–Thursday: 7:30 a.m.–7 p.m. | Friday & Saturday: 7:30 a.m.–8 p.m. The Afterwords Café offers fine private roast coffee, pastries, bagels, fresh fruit and paninis made with hearty breads and ingredients including fresh eggs, smoked salmon and local produce. Midday gives way to an array of fresh salads, traditional and gourmet style sandwiches, quiche, numerous soup choices and desserts.
